[Autumn 2022 in Sapporo] Day 2(1) - (Furano/Biei/Junpei)

Furano and Biei

When I first planned a trip to Hokkaido, I wanted to tour only Sapporo for 3 nights and 4 days. However, it was a shame to tour only Sapporo on a big island called Hokkaido. So I decided to go to Sapporo for four nights and five days by adding one more day.

I planned Furano, Biei, and Otaru for my suburban trip. Today I went on a one-day tour of Furano and Biei. The one-day tour was not only convenient because guides and buses were provided, but it was also good to get various information about Hokkaido from the guide.

A Seven Star Tree

A place where you can meet birch and maple trees on a wide field

As the first point of the tour, I could see the wide field of Hokkaido well. The second picture was a tree called Seven Star, which appeared in a Japanese cigarette pack. It was good to take pictures because there were no tourists. It was not long after the free travel was allowed to enter the country. (According to the tour guide, there are so many tourists that they park buses on the shoulder before COVID-19.)

I was able to take pictures comfortably because there were no cars.

Junpei


If you search for a famous restaurant in Furano and Biei, most of the reviews were Junpei. I was also curious about the conflicting evaluations such as "It was delicious" and "It's just edible" coexist.

I was able to visit with the help of a tour guide. (You can make a reservation free of charge through a tour travel agency.) The interior of the store was a cozy feeling of a Japanese family house. We ordered and shared four shrimp Ebidong (1,551 yen) and a fork curry (1,606 yen). The fried shrimp in Ebidong was very large and crispy. However, the sweet and salty taste of fried shrimp is strong, so I recommend Ebidong with three shrimps. Pork curry was served with pork cutlet on top of curry and rice. The pork cutlet I usually ate in Korea was delicious, so Junpei's pork cutlet was a normal. However, since the local specialty of the Biei is pork, it is worth eating. Judging that many residents came during the meal, at least local good restaurants seemed certain.


For your information, there are currently many restaurants that are temporarily closed around Biei. Station, so making a reservation at Junpei seems to be a good option. However, the price is relatively high.

A Christmas Tree

It is a tree that is a model for representative photos of many Furano and Biei tour companies.

There is no parking lot, so you have to take pictures on narrow streets for a short time. You can take beautiful pictures in the snowy winter. When it snows, the twinkling leaves of the tree look like a Christmas tree.

Aoiike

It is a lake like Pocari Sweat(Power Ade).

It is a lake created by meeting artificial structures and hot spring water. It is said that the color of the water changes a lot depending on the weather and season. You can see the blue lake only if you are lucky. Fortunately, the weather was clear when I went, so I could see the blue lake. According to the tour guide, it is the most beautiful in mid-November with snow around the lake. In winter, the lake is covered with snow, so it is difficult to see the blue lake.

White Beard Falls

You can capture the waterfall and Mt. Furano in one picture.

On this tour, I could see the magnificent Furano Mountain anywhere. There is no chance to meet an active volcano in Korea. Therefore, Furano Mountain, which is covered in snow and continues to emit smoke, was the most beautiful for me. White Beard Falls was good because it was a place where you could see Mount Furano closely.

The Furano and Biei tour was successfully completed.
If you go to Sapporo, I highly recommend you to go to Furano and Biei for a day.
The second day has a lot of schedules, so it will be divided into two parts.
